The blanket that soothes us, the happy in stasis
the rapturing hands of the typical faces.
Well I rose to the target, in my head I won it
But the real cut the deal with the fastest and hungriest.
I pose like the father, injecting my drama
but then fate dealt the hand and I caught it and dropped it.
I’m the bad omen forced by satirical jostling
but when push comes to shove, in my bank, there is nothing.

Well I need it and want it but just didn’t say,
cos there’s a hole in my pocket, a grin on their face.
The more intensely I chase it, the faster it fades

Well I ripped up and sewed up the the thread that exceeds us
but then quietly spoke that they “just didn’t need us”
I am good at reversing, in hindsight I’m glorious
but that only adds to my unpublished story.
